Florence was born on January 8, 1928 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Harry and Florence McCullouch. She married Thomas W. Brayton on August 25, 1946 at the church in Fine, NY. Tom passed away on October 6, 2019. “Flossie” Brayton, age 94, of Edwards, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Legacy K, to be with her husband, Tom, of 73 years. His book-worthy boyhood with his brothers, Glen and Alan, and his best buddies was one grand adventure, he said, and he wished every boy could have reveled in the freedom of small town America. Lucky is survived by his wife Vickie, his daughter Michelle Lutz and son Brian Lutz, both of Theresa, his grandchildren John, Kelsey, and Katelynn, great grandchildren Kennedy and Leo. He is also survived by his brother Robert Evans Jr. of Colorado and his several cousins who he considered his brothers and sisters. Lucky is predeceased by his parents Bertrand Lutz, Thelma Lutz, Lila Evans, and Robert Evans, as well as close cousins. Joyce is also survived by her brother Ronald Peck of Fine, her sisters Ruth Hinshaw of Florida, Connie Vrooman of Gouverneur, Linda Lashua of Edwards, Kathy Fisher of Gouverneur, several nieces and nephews.

Turner Jr was born August 30,1944 in Dale County, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 07, 2022. Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Thompson Turner, parents—Calvin and Dortris Turner, and son in law Todd Fulghum. Calvin graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark, AL in 1962. He was employed at West Point Pepperell/Stevens for 40 plus years.

Dr. Louis Angelini, 87, passed away, peacefully at his home, with loving family by his side, Sunday, December 4, 2022. Born in Utica, June 13, 1935, Louis was a son of the late Luigi and Concetta Angelini. He was educated in local schools, graduating from TR Proctor High School, where he excelled in academics, music, and football.

He was raised and educated in New Hartford and was a 1971 graduate of New Harford High School. While in high school, he joined DeMolay International, a youth group within the Loyal Order of Masons. “Dee Dee” LoConti, 79, passed away, with the love of her family in her heart, Monday, December 12, 2022, at Utica Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Dee Dee was born in Utica, August 4, 1943, a daughter of the late Daniel and Antoinette “Toni” LoConti.

He began his work career at Slate’s Service Station in Gouverneur and was employed there until leaving to help his father run his Coca-Cola distributor business. After his dad retired, he worked for ESC#1 at Fort Drum until retiring in 2008. A short time after retiring from Fort Drum he took a job working part time at Kinney Drugs in Gouverneur and was employed there until he became ill in 2021.
Mrs. Suzette Gillette, 59, passed away with loving family by her side Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the St. Luke’s Campus of MVHS. Suzette was born in Oneida, NY, November 28, 1962, a daughter of the late Eric Francis and Nancy Charlotte McCauley. She was formerly married to Michael Gillette and shared twenty-seven loving years with Earl Clark Sr.. A very loving mother and grandmother, Suzette’s family... “Mitzi” Giehl, 89, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Monday, November 28, 2022, at The St. Luke’s Home.

After retirement, Carl enjoyed hunting, spending time with his yorkies , having coffee with friends, and participating in his local church. He tried to make an annual trip to New York to catch up with family and friends until his health wouldn’t let him.
She was elected Miss Lafayette High School, Miss Home Economics, President of the Beta Club, and she served as a cheerleader. She met her first love, Robert, and dated him until they were married... In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to the family.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, Lynn and Mary Soper, and a sister, Brenda. His childhood was spent on the family farm in Edwards, while his adult life was spent working construction across multiple states, and serving 20+ years with the US Army Reserves. Devoted to Eastport, he served on the city council and various city boards and committees. Determined opponents of the Pittston Company's hope to site an oil refinery in Eastport, he and Bobbie played important roles in the fight to defeat that plan.
In fact, the lawsuit that finally forced the Pittston Company to abandon its 250,000-barrel-a-day oil-refinery scheme was filed in George's name as George Lehigh et al vs. The Pittston Company. Lucky B. Lutz, 78, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. He served 9 years in the United States Army and married Joyce Hanratty on April 6, 1957 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley E. Brown officiating. Donald was born in Jacksonville, FL on July 14, 1931, the youngest of 11 children of Charles and Ollie Campbell.

Miguel was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, July 21, 1971, to the late Hipoligio Rivera Ramos and Aurea Geigel Ayuso. He enjoyed music, dancing, was always willing to help the people around him and did it with a smile on his face. Would you like to offer Bernice L Hanson’s loved ones a condolence message? After graduating from law school, Phil practiced law for the next two years in Syracuse.
He never lost his love for the North Country, and loved coming in the fall to enjoy hunting and being at camp with his brother and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald, a retired construction union laborer, as well as her parents, a brother Glendon Thomas, a sister Betty Thomas Murphy, a son Robert Canell, and a son in law Dennis Schneider. We are sad to announce that on December 18, 2022, at the age of 87, Bernice L Hanson passed away. Family and friends can send flowers and condolences in memory of the loved one.
Her career expanded to designing hotels in Taiwan, Japan and several European countries. She graduated from Hermon-DeKalb School in 1967, Watertown School of Commerce in 1969. Elaine spent many weekends in Syracuse while attending Maria Regina College for Medical Records while working full time. Contributions in her memory may be made to Gouverneur Rescue Squad, The Village of Gouverneur Recreation Center, or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Sally married Ronald Canell, her high school sweetheart on March 2, 1957 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Gouverneur.
