Gloria was the great-great-great-grandson of shipping and railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt. Although a majority of his wealth is due to his career as a popular news anchor, Anderson Cooper does come from the incredibly rich Vanderbilt family. His mother, Gloria Laura Vanderbilt, is the great-great-granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt and had a net worth of $200 million before her passing in 2019 due to stomach cancer. Anderson Cooper owns real estate property in Connecticut, Brazil, and previously owned property in the Hamptons, although his primary residence is in Greenwich Village in New York City. Some features to the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom cottage include a hot tub, swimming pool, a bluestone patio, a kitchen decked out with Viking kitchen appliances, and several stone fireplaces.
It also connected her to her late husband, Wyatt Cooper — her happiest marriage, she said. A former actor, Mr. Cooper was an author, editor and screenwriter (he co-wrote “The Chapman Report” with Don M. Mankiewicz). On the far side of the marble fireplace is her own life-size portrait by Aaron Shikler, the American portrait painter who was also a lover. Married four times (the first, at 17, to an actor’s agent with mob connections who beat her and was rumored to have killed his first wife), Ms. Vanderbilt’s romances included Frank Sinatra, Howard Hughes and the photographer Gordon Parks.

Cooper covered everything and reported on world news such as Hurricane Katrina, the death of Pope John Paul II, the Boston Marathon bombing, as well as political debates and elections. The show was a major hit and still remains a successful global newscast for reporting and investigations. When she repeatedly asked Hurt to leave, he began screaming and moved toward the door with with “his hands up and both balled,” the court papers claim. Hurt allegedly tried to shove his way into Cooper’s home at least four times since August, according to the complaint. In September 2018, the "60 Minutes" correspondent indirectly showed his house off to The Hollywood Reporter while spending three days with the publication. The star lived with Lilly, his Welsh springer spaniel, and he and Benjamin had broken up earlier that year.

Built in 1906 and found in Greenwich Village, Anderson Cooper paid $4.3 million in January 2010 for his former fire house. The firehouse is four floors high or turn-of-the-century brick and covers 8,240 square feet. The exterior originally was painted completely with dark red paint, but has been stripped down.

One of the luxury features of the estate is an additional four-bedroom guest home on property. The three-story Rye House has an Olympic-size swimming pool and is located in the plush, suburban town of Bantam in Southern Connecticut, an area home to many movie stars and celebrities. The estate is situated on 48.9 acres including Japanese gardens and lush landscaping. The gym makes an appearance in the promotional video, as do the building's luxurious, yet relaxed living room, a bedroom, and rooftop. By way of a cheeky H&M advertising campaign (h/t 6sqft) starring David Beckham and Kevin Hart comes some tantalizing glimpses into the 1906 firehouse at 84 West 3rd Street. After Cooper purchased the sprawling building in 2010 for $4.3 million, he tapped architect Cary Tamarkin to lead an overhaul of the Beaux Arts building's interiors.
After traveling to multiple war-torn countries to report on the violence, he realized he had lost perspective, and shifted his focus to broadcast journalism. In 2014, Cooper purchased this massive, 10,127 square foot Tudor revival, built in 1910, for an unknown amount in Bantam, CT. Reports are the price tag was between $5 and $9 million. The Beaux-Arts building-style was built in 1906 and is only 1 of the 3 remaining fire patrol houses in the city. Anderson Cooper owns a beach house in the Brazilian town of Trancoso, as well as a renovated former firehouse in New York's Greenwich Village.

On Aug. 21, Hurt showed up at Cooper’s digs at 10 am, where a woman opened the door to the unhinged visitor claiming “”I have package for Anderson Cooper.,” court papers claim. Gerald Hurt, 52, was charged with misdemeanor stalking, menacing and trespassing for allegedly trying multiple times to get into the West Village home Cooper shares with Benjamin Maisani. He spent years restoring it and installed an elevator while the second floor has a salon with taxidermy and Old Master paintings plus hand-painted signs that he collected during trips to Cuba and Africa.

The CNN anchor explained that he wanted all the items in his son's room to have personal history and significance. A changing area and a picture of Benjamin and his sister when they were younger were added to the room. The nursery was still in progress, and some photos hadn't been hung up yet. One painting, done by Anderson's late mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, of herself and the star's late father, who Wyatt was named after. Benjamin is a businessman who decided to open his bar, "Eastern Bloc," after working at one.

Interior shots are not available at the moment, but the building was filled with brass fire poles, spiral staircases and huge overhead wood beams. The home gym he is building is going to be styled after the original early 1900s fireman's gym, with climbing ropes and bar weights with the big balls at the ends. Anderson Hays Cooper was born on June 3, 1967, in Manhattan, New York City. His mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, was an artist, fashion designer and heiress.
Called Casa Anderson, this tropical paradise is comprised of four pavilions to make one spacious luxury compound. Elon Musk is suspending the Twitter accounts of some journalists who cover Twitter. Among them are members of The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN. Anderson Cooper speaks with CNN's Donie O'Sullivan, a reporter who covered the controversial suspension of a different account, who just had his account suspended this evening. As the host of the CNN news show "Anderson Cooper 360," he earns an annual salary of $12 million. Visible in the images are paintings of herself and her mother as well as a baby photo of Cooper.
Cooper listed the place around the same time he put the neighboring home on the market, and the cottage ended up selling in 2015 for $2.975 million. Anderson Cooper actually owned not one, but two lakefront properties in the Hamptons, both of which are located in Aspatuck Creek. The first of his two Quiongue homes, built in 1946, is a cottage-style abode that boasts 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 3,654 square feet of living space, and sits on 2.4 acres of land.
Although the residence was completely transformed to be more chic and modern, Cooper left some original pieces from the 19th-century, including a brass firepole, original beams, ceilings, and added some vintage equipment. In the 1980s, Anderson Cooper enrolled at the Dalton School in Manhattan, an exclusive, private school, and later went on to attend Yale University to study political science. On Sept. 21, Hurt returned to find Cooper, who asked him to leave multiple times. But Hurt allegedly pushed his full weight against the front door and reach his hands around the door to try to grab Cooper, the court papers claim.
Anderson Cooper has bought a $4.3 million firehouse in New York's Greenwich Village, the New York Post reports. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper lists late mom Gloria Vanderbilt’s New York City home for $1.125 million. The relatively modest price can be attributed to the apartment’s lower placement, situated on the second floor of the building.
